Scam alert — pseudo-recruiters attract candidates using the name of Dragons Lake, one of Room 8 Group’s studios

Lately, we have been reported unfortunate cases of scammers pretending to be Dragons Lake recruiters. Fraudsters introduce themselves as Jesse Abraham, Victor Rosado, Carry Zigman, and Abel Trox and falsely claim to be HR specialists at Dragons Lake. It is crucial to warn the community how not to fall for a false employer:

  1. Under no circumstances would Dragons Lake request funds from a candidate – all the hiring procedures and corporate equipment are financed solely by the company. A candidate must not invest any funds in the hiring process. Therefore, if a recruiter requests any finances from you – make sure you don’t wire any money to this person.
  1. Please check the email domain of the recruiter contacting you – it will take a minute, but this detail will help you verify whether this person actually represents the company. Dragons Lake’s only domain is dragonslake.com and no other variations are possible.
  1. Take a moment to check the LinkedIn profile of the recruiters reaching you and look through their network. A professional recruiter representing the company will have numerous colleagues among their contacts. If the recruiter’s profile doesn’t have a photo, has very few contacts, or looks suspicious to you, this may also be a fraud alert. Normally talent acquisition specialists have hundreds of reliable connections as this is their job’s primary focus.

Scammers often pretend to be someone you trust. They make themselves seem believable by pretending to be connected with a company and frequently practice these things on LinkedIn. If you feel a pseudo-employer is reaching out, don’t hesitate to use the “Contact us” or “Join the team” sections on the official Dragons Lake website. We will get back to you promptly.

Ensuring a smooth and professional hiring process is the priority for Dragons Lake and every studio of Room 8 Group. We are putting our every effort into investigating the fraud cases and taking action to minimize the possibility of them happening again.
