Skins & outfit

Players should be able to get some hints into character’s identity from the visual look. Skin and outfit provide a way to express the character’s personality and culture, making your heroes more accessible. We design distinctive skins of various complexities depending on the concept, specs, and requested level of detail.

Creatures

Creatures need to evoke emotions and make a game unforgettable, just as human-like characters. We craft realistic, stylized, or cartoon cute animals, bloodthirsty monsters, annoying robots, terrifying ghosts, creepy zombies, and other fun creatures.

Hair & fur

Creating hair for AAA-quality photorealistic characters is a painstakingly time-consuming process. Look, shape, length, quantity, thickness, movement – we find a delicate balance between a good look and technical requirements. And, yes, we can do hair and animal fur flawlessly.

With our capacity, you can quickly scale your team at any time. We select artists with relevant expertise to perfectly fit your project requirements. Your team will remain constant during the whole project duration.

Diversity and inclusion

Because the gaming industry is full of only gruff or white characters, we want to change that. We create characters with myriad personalities, ethnicities, and appearances. It’s not diversity for the purpose of hitting checkboxes – the characters we create have purpose and meaning within the game.

Required technical skills

Our character artists have a strong understanding of anatomy and proportions, solid knowledge of polygon modeling workflows, digital sculpting techniques, UV mapping, excellent lighting, shading, and texturing skills, and a strong sense of design.

Creative versatility

From humans to creatures to robots and mechs, we’ve created more than 500 realistic and stylized 3D characters, skins, and outfits for our partners at Activision, NCSoft, Amazon Game Studios, Kung Fu Factory, Turtle Rock Studios, and Mediatonic.

Efficient pipeline

We have a strong internal QA and adhere to the highest project management standards to take projects from concept to launch within the shortest possible timeframe. Our art pipelines have demonstrated their efficiency on more than 50 projects.

Collaborative spirit

While we’re trusted to solve creative issues independently, creating believable characters is collaborative. It’s common for other artists to contribute with their feedback and ideas. We also work with multiple departments to consider their needs and constraints.

Art direction

Art direction as a service or art director’s supervision ensures the deliveries match the client’s vision at all stages.

It was again an absolute pleasure to work with Room8 studio. Their support was decisive for the game, and they provided high-quality work, not to mention their enthusiasm and dedication to the project. We knew that bringing ABZÛ to Nintendo Switch would be a significant technical challenge. Our game is built on custom and unique gameplay systems and advanced rendering technologies specific to our underwater world. We initially only targeted higher-end consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. But Room8 studio accepted that challenge with tireless enthusiasm and talent, and the results were fantastic. They’ve delivered a version of ABZÛ with very few compromises that still captures all of the atmosphere and wonder of our world.
