We are looking for a highly qualified Project Lead 3D Weapon Artist with the skills to create weapon assets for AAA games. As a Project Lead 3D Weapon Artist, you will be responsible for the project team’s performance, velocity, and quality of performed work. It’s a perfect match if you can complete all stages of model creation, and are familiar with various pipelines.

Superpowers
you have are

  • Confident SubD modeling in Max / Maya;
  • Knowledge of Fusion 360 as a basic sift for CAD-model creation;
  • Experience sculpting the hard surface assets in Zbrush;
  • Solid skill in creating low-poly models and retopology, understanding of the principles of modular systems, and the ability to optimally distribute polygons on the asset;
  • An ability to create optimal UV mapping for various types of textures (tiles, rectangular, UDIM);
  • An ability to bake in several programs to solve problems encountered during baking;
  • Experience in texturing in Substance Painter;
  • Understanding of the import and materials setting in the engines (UnrealEngine 4 and 5, Unity, Lumberyard, etc.);
  • Understanding of modern pipelines and requirements for creating realistic weapons and equipment;
  • An ability to follow and correctly interpret/improve the concept idea;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, proactiveness, and desire to learn, teach, and mentor; 
  • Intermediate level of English, both writing and speaking.

  • Knowledge of Marvelous Designer;
  • Materials creation in Substance Designer;
  • 1+ years of experience as a Project Lead;
  • Strategic thinking, desire to develop the team;
  • Deep industry knowledge;
  • High-quality standards and artistic taste;
  • The ability to objectively evaluate the work of others and give constructive feedback.

As a part of Room 8
studio, you will

  • Create high-poly and low-poly models of equipment and weapons for games on given concepts and requirements;
  • Create optimal UV mapping and texture baking (normal, AO, etc.);
  • Texture and work with game engines;
  • Strictly follow the external guidelines, feedback, and technical requirements;
  • Create internal guidelines;
  • Organize work in a team to keep discipline and velocity standards;
  • Create the project guides and make the team follow them;
  • Provide quality control of the artists in the team;
  • Help solve issues in the team related to the artistic and technical components of the project;
  • Organize the work of the team within the project and specific tasks.
