The Amazing D.I.C.E. 2020: Recap

Last week was the 23rd Annual D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Summit and Awards ceremony at the Aria Resort & Casino. Hosted by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), it spans three days. It is packed with a golf tournament in memory of Dan Winters, a poker tournament, meet-and-greets, presentations, panel discussions, roundtables, and, finally, the D.I.C.E. Awards.

‘One of the highlights this year was Control winning Action Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, AND Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition!’, says Charles Anthony Villano III, Senior Director, Business Development at Room 8 Studio. ‘A very heartfelt congratulations to the Remedy team!!! We are honored to call you partners.’

Room 8 Studio’s presence at this year’s Summit was in full force. We sponsored the VIP & Speaker Reception and were ever meeting with folks about the studios’ art and game development services and discussing our different expertise.

‘This year’s D.I.C.E. theme – “Next Level” – represents the industry’s commitment to foster everything that goes into making a player smile,’ says Charles. ‘It echoes Room 8 Studio’s mantra of “there is always Room for more” and our ongoing quest to find new and bigger ways to expand the joy of interactive entertainment.’

The D.I.C.E. event is special for many people in the industry and us since it spans the years of successful videogame industry development and uniting so many designers, developers, and executives passionate about making the best player experience possible. Hope to meet next year!
